November 3rd, 2008: This made me a giggle a little.... Since it's been going around... Warning, political content ahead: "Today on my way to Waffle House for breakfast I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read ‘Vote Obama, I need the money.’ I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on an ‘Obama 08’ pin; again I laughed as she had given away her political preference - just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to her that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. She stood there in disbelief while I told her that I was going to redistribute her tip to someone who I deemed more in need - the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’d decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waitress was very angry that I gave away the money she did earn even though the actual recipient apparently needed the money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application." Current Mood: October 14th, 2008: Lost some info..... So as some of you might know....my cell phone took a drink this weekend and it's a total loss. So sadly, that also means that I've lost most of all of your phone numbers. So hey, if I had your number or were thinking "hey, Lee should have my number". Just send me a note with the info to leehighfield@gmail.com so I can get reconnected with you. Thanks! Lee Current Mood: September 30th, 2008September 29th, 2008: Pretty good stuff all in all..... Hello Dear Readers; It's been ages since I posted anything of any real value here so I thought I'd take a few minutes to check in with everyone. On the "Grand Scheme" things are going pretty good, and all in all, I've got no real complaints. I could be making a bit more money, but I suspect that's the same for most of us. In comparison to others out there who are having very rough times, I wouldn't dare to complain. I've been doing a lot of SCA stuff lately, which is pretty awesome. Getting back out and about on a larger scale has given me an opportunity to meet a lot of the newer folks that I've missed because I haven't been traveling much and to reconnect with those I haven't seen in a while. There's a group of us, who are pushing the fold to get better and better, and it's awesome. I'm interested to see just how high "The Bar" will get. To see how far can I improve, and how my own improvement will drive the performance of those around me. Additionally, as I'm getting a little older I can feel the way I fight starting to take a toll on my body, part of this "path of improvement" is to combat this issue as well. I'd plan to be fighting for at least another 20 years, which means there's still a lot more ass to kick; so I'd better do all I can to make sure it's not mine. A while back I jokingly refered to myself as: "One of the best Rapier Combatants in this Midrealm that nobody knows". I'm working to correct that issue...one beating at a time. Until my "bucket" over-floweth. Maybe someday I'll be as cool as Brighid. On the down-side, increased activity means increased wear and tear. My favorite blade failed terminally this weekend. Replacing it will be expensive. I'm not looking forward to that. On the Armored Combat side....I'm starting to think maybe I'd like to get good at this....my competitive nature is sneaking out some I suppose. But I'm in no rush, I just want to learn those things I need to learn and progress at a steady pace. My name submission has gone off to the Laurel Sovereign of Arms....I suspect it'll be March 2009 before I hear anything back. When that happens though I'll "Officially" be: Cailin mac Aonghuis (warning: I may have missed a consonant) Which is very cool to me. When that's finished, I'll submit a device. Then I'll make sweet favors of some sort for my Henchman/Operatives. They'll be the envy of the whole scene.....LOL. Well, they'll be spiffy anyway. Other things in the works: 1) Re-working my garb, I'd like to have a complete turnover of my garb by next pennsic. In my mind that means having enough garb to camp for 10- days. I consider this task about 25% completed. This would even mean (mostly) replacing all of my colored shirts that Brighid disliked so much. 2) Maybe some new armor.....I'd like some light linen armor.....but the garb is first, maybe part of that can be integrated, maybe it can't. We'll just have to see. 3) Go through my Myspace and Facebook and make sure I contact everyone I've not seen or heard from in a while. 4) I want a sweet "Elizabethan Pimp Coat"....I suspect I'll need to attain the assistance of my Dear, Lovely. Charming, Talented, and Wonderful friend Brighid to get me going in the right direction as I don't think I'm quite talented enough to do it on my own. ...Man I'm lucky I wore boots today, it's getting deep in here. Ok. I think that's got the highlights covered for know...feel free to chime in. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Warm Regards; Lee : Cool stuff... As Mister Spock would say: Fascinating. It seems you've managed to hit the edge of the curve on all metrics. An extraordinary life is almost certain.
According to your answers, you want it all, you want a lot of it, and you're willing to do what it takes to get it! Adventure! Romance! Technology! Challenge! You love civilization. You like people. You love the complications and joys of a big, weird crowd of humans plus lots of other beings wandering into dangerous and complicated corners of the galaxy.
There is an ideal place for you, and you are ideal for it: Welcome to the crew of the starship Enterprise. Captain Kirk would have welcomed you aboard himself, but his head was too big to fit in the landing bay. Your result for The What Middle Earth race do you belong to Test... The What Middle Earth race do you belong to Test
You're an Elf! You scored low in size, high in morality, high in aggression and high in intelligence to get here. The first and favorite race created by the Valar, the Elves have been in Middle Earth for many ages, and are currently the only race allowed to join their creators in Valinor. Blessed with eternal life, enhanced senses, great beauty, wisdom and skill, the race of Elves still has several black marks on it. (Kinslaying, anyone?) But hey, no one is perfect, right? Of course not, but the Elves are damn close to it. FYI, your polar opposite is the Troll. Take The What Middle Earth race do you belong to Test at HelloQuizzy April 29th, 2008: Dark Day..... My XBOX 360 died yesterday while I was playing Call Of Duty 4. It'll cost 100 buck (which I don't currently have) to have it sent off and fixed. So now it's going to be months before I'll get to blow people up on the internet again....and that makes me very sad. Very sad indeed. On another note, I've started re-watching season one of BSG. Which is only sort of balancing out watching the crash and burn of Season 4. Hopefully the Spin Off will be made of Win! Maybe I should try to finish all of the scenarios on both of my BSG video games, especially Beyond The Red Line, which is totally awesome. So say we all. L~ Current Mood: : I went to Blackstone Raids and all I got was this Lousy (I mean Awesome)T-Shirt!! Hello Dear Readers; So yeah..... I went to AEthelmarc to Blackstone Raids, and of the attending Rapier Combatants there.... That's right. I killed all of them. Without suffering a loss. And I won a T-Shirt.....along with Enjoying the Sweet Smell of VICTORY of course. Hope to see you all soon! L~ Current Mood: April 23rd, 2008April 2nd, 2008:
March 26th, 2008December 29th, 2007: New Years Eve!!! So some of you may be familiar with this little shindig, some may not. However.... Every year I throw a New Years Eve Party. So your all invited, of course. That's right, every single one of you freaks should come to my house on New Years Eve! So I figure we're gonna open the doors around 6 (6:00PM).....you can come over when you like and stay as long as you please, if you don't mind sleeping on the couch/floor your welcome to that also. There will be food and snacks, and some non-alcoholic beverages for you folks that care to be sober for these sorts of things. As usual "Frozen Ice Dragons" will be served. Although we suspect that you will also want to BYOB, in fact we highly recommend it. I'm also going to recommend bringing any music or movies you might want us to consider playing, we'll have a look and let the committee decide. Also, we'd like to have a scotch tasting, the rules are simple, we'll bring some scotch to share, you should bring some scotch to share also. Oh yeah, the last detail. The address... 2 Bradford Street Dayton, Ohio 45410. You'll find it, I promise...it's the biggest, PINKEST house in South Park. See you there!! Lee, Siren, Jake & Keith December 26th, 2007:
I Am A: True Neutral Human Sorcerer (6th Level) Ability Scores: Strength-12 Dexterity-16 Constitution-15 Intelligence-15 Wisdom-14 Charisma-14 Alignment: True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction. Race: Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like. Class: Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.
